The only reason why a star hero film works is due to the enthusiasm of his fans. The thing about star fans is hard to understand. For their hero, they don’t mind donating blood or distributing food. Sometimes they also take tough decisions. Amidst all this arrived the film ‘Thoofan’ starring Ram Charan. Apparently, the film landed in trouble due to the Telangana and Samaikyandhra activists as they were unhappy with Chiranjeevi’s stand. Though police protection was provided, many groups protested outside the theatres. These are the same people who gave red carpet welcome to mega family films. But this reaction from them has reportedly shocked the hero and his family. They expected the fans to come forward and make the film a hit but this U-Turn from them gave a jolt. Now, the situation is that, even the amount of crowd which comes for a small budget film also is not coming for ‘Thoofan’ makings its producers and buyers to cry. Ram Charan’s Thoofan that’s released today has set a new record in USA. The film collected much lesser than what Venkatesh starrer Shadow collected recently at the premiere shows across various centers. When inquired the reasons, it was told that the pre-release talk marred the collections heavily and anti Chiranjeevi feel that has spread in recent times added fuel to the failure. A true star is the one who can pull audience to theatres despite the film carries negative talk. But when audiences decide to watch a film basing on the talk, the hero cannot be called a star but just an actor. On a whole, the film failed to attract the audience both in Hindi and Telugu. Coming back to home, Telangana activists called for bandh in entire Naizam area from this midnight protesting Samaikyandhra rally in Hyderabad. Thus the film is facing the second day loss.
