THE RULES Read the complete set of rules below, even if this isn’t your first season. The rules will cover some special situations that could arise during the season. 1. How do I sign up? a. Go to http://www.runyourpool.com/join.cfm b. In the “Join an Existing Pool” section enter the following information: i. In the Pool ID box, enter the number 17519 ii. In the Pool Password box, enter Survivor2013 (In case you are accessing for first time you will get instruction belwo_ iii. Select the first option “I would like to create a NEW username and password to access this pool” c. Fill in all of the Member information fields (name, email address, username and password, and a team name if you like). This information will NOT be sold or utilized for spam email under ANY circumstances by runyourpool.com. 2. How do I make my weekly pick? Each week you will log into the web site and select one team that you believe will win their game that weekend. You will not be allowed to pick a team that was selected earlier in the season. It’s your responsibility to verify that your pick has been recorded. If there’s any question that your pick hasn’t been entered, I suggest you log out and log back in to confirm that the pick is in. 3. How do I advance to the next week? If the team you selected wins, you will automatically advance to the next week. If the team you selected loses or ties, you are eliminated (see #6). 4. What is the deadline for making picks each week? The web site will automatically prevent you from entering or modifying your pick after the scheduled kickoff time of the first Sunday game each week (1 PM Eastern). This rule applies to every week of the NFL season, even weeks where there are earlier games. Missing the deadline will result in elimination from the pool. In other words, IF FOR ANY REASON YOU FAIL TO MAKE A PICK IN ANY WEEK, THE SYSTEM WILL CHOOSE the smallest available favorite . 5. Does the pool deadline change if there is an early game for a week (for example, a Thursday game in Week 1)? In weeks where there are early games, you must pick the early game prior to its’ kickoff, if you want that game. If instead you want to pick a Sunday game, that pick can be made any time prior to the first kickoff on Sunday. Please note that once the first Sunday game of the week has started, NO picks can be made or modified, including those being played later on Sunday or Monday night. 6. How and when can I buy back in the pool? You are allowed to buy back in the pool one time between Week 1 and Week 10. Buy backs are ONLY available if you were eliminated in the “previous” week (i.e. you can’t “take a week off” and buy back in). YOU CANNOT BUY BACK IN IF YOU FORGOT TO MAKE A PICK THE PREVIOUS WEEK. Second Chance: If you drop out of the pool after making an incorrect pick you can buy your way back into the pool. The charge is ($5 times the number of weeks of the pool.) For example, if you drop out after making an incorrect pick in week 5, it will cost you $25 ($5 x 5 weeks) to get back in. You can use your Second Chance only one time and it can only be used in the first 10 weeks of the pool. After week 10, those that drop out are out for good. You must buy your way back into the pool before the next week's picks are due. So, if you drop out in week 5, you must buy back in before week 6 picks are due. Finally, your previous selections will remain on the board. In other words, you won't be able to reuse teams you've already picked To buy back in: You must notify me via email that you want to buy back in the pool Send me a check for that week’s buy-back amount. YOU WILL HAVE ONE WEEK TO PAY THE BUY BACK AMOUNT, AFTER THAT YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE POOL. Playoff rules 5. Playoff System: If the regular season does not produce a clear winner by the end of Week 17, the following “Playoff” system will used to determine the 1st and 2nd place winners. a. The Survivor playing board will be modified to include only the 12 remaining teams in the playoffs. b. All previous picks will be removed from the board. c. In Week 1 of the playoffs, players must choose a winner from one of the 8 playoff teams (remember, there are 12 teams in the playoffs, but the top two teams from each conference won’t play in Week 1). d. Once you use a team, you cannot reuse that team again (unless we proceed to the Super Bowl…see below) e. All successful players from Week 1 will advance to Week 2 and will choose from the remaining 7 teams (8 teams that remain in the playoffs minus the team you used in Week 1). f. All successful players from Week 2 will advance to Week 3 and will choose from the remaining 2 teams (4 teams that remain in the playoffs minus the teams you used in Weeks 1 and 2). If after all this we still don’t have a winner, we will advance to the Super Bowl. a. Once again, the Survivor playing board will be modified to include only the 2 remaining teams in the Super Bowl. b. All previous picks will be removed from the board. c. The remaining players will choose a winner of the Super Bowl and submit with their pick a prediction of the total number of points scored in the game. e. If we still have a tie at the end of the Super Bowl, the final 1st and 2nd place winners of the Survivor contest will be the players that come closest to the total number of points scored in the Super Bowl. .those who are serious about their watches display them prominently, those who are more concerned with style and branding present you with aircraft carriers and hide their watches. | ||
