Director N Shankar has been nominated as member of Screening Committee, which will select the India's official entry at the Oscars 2013. He is part of 16-member jury, which will be viewing films nominated from various film industries in India.

N Shankar directed films like Sri Ramulayya, Encounter, Jayam Manadera, Bhadrachalam and Jai Bolo Telangana. Some of them were big hits. He has earlier served as jury of Nandi Awards, National Awards and International Film Festival of India.

From Telugu film industry, two films - Tanikella Bharani's Midhunam and J K Bharavi's Adi Shankara are under screening.
