The note file relating to the controversial decision of the government to remove the Minimum Guarantee Amount clause has established that the top brass of the administration had ignored the objections raised by the law and finance departments apparently in their eagerness to help the private port operator, Kakinada Sea Ports Limited. \This newspaper obtained a copy of the note file under the Right to Information Act and it is evident that the state has been put to the risk of losing hundreds of crores of rupees due to the removal of the MGA clause. According to the file, the then special secretary to chief minister, Mr M.G.V.K. Bhanu, had informed the infrastructure department of the chief minister’s desire to have the KSPL’s requests examined by a Group of Ministers. | ||
