The Telangana Congress leaders are fretting and fuming at the destructive role being played by AICC in-charge of Andhra Pradesh affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad in the Telangana state formation issue. According to party sources, after making controversial comments on the Telangana issue in Hyderabad, Azad went to Delhi and gave a completely negative report to Sonia Gandhi stating that there is no seriousness in the Telangana agitation and that the resignations were only a drama. And the Telangana ministers and MPs who went to New Delhi on Tuesday morning lodged a complaint to other senior leaders like Pranab Mukherjee and Ahmed Patel over the âSaindhavaâ role being played by Azad. They asked him who Azad was to decide on the Telangana. âHe was just a block level leader in Kashmir and in early â80s, he used to stay in a small hotel paying a rent of Rs 20 whenever he came to Hyderabad. Thanks to Rajiv Gandhi, he grew to this stage. What is his capacity to judge the sentiments of four crore people?â a senior Telangana leader asked. The Telangana MPs were so agitated with Azadâs behaviour that they boycotted his meeting on Wednesday and sent a couple of MLAs and ministers to meet him.  |
