HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday warned Telangana would burn if the Centre chose to constitute an autonomous regional development council. Speaking at a meeting held in memory of Telangana idealogue Jayashankar, he promised to carry forward an uncompromised fight for the separate state till his last breath. "I would like to humbly submit to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that it was your government which had made the promise on December 9, 2009, (on creating Telangana state). If you do any 'hera pheri', Telangana will not tolerate you. You will see a burning Telangana. The hearts of four crore Telangana people will burn, and you alone will be responsible for whatever happens," Rao said. Following reports that Centre would announce an autonomous regional development council for Telangana, Rao said nothing short of a separate state was acceptable to them. "I will not rest till Telangana state is achieved. There is no other way out. We will take the movement to new heights, in line with Jayashakar's philosophy of fight-to-the-finish," he said. All speakers recalled the services of Jayashankar and swore to take the struggle forward despite hurdles. The meeting was attended by Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman M Kodandaram, advocates, doctors, a host of BJP leaders, including state president G Kishan Reddy, Najma Hepatulla, Ch Vidyasagar Rao and CPI leader Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy. The JAC demanded installation of Jayashankar's statue on Tank Bund. Later, the TRS president drove to the residence of panchayati raj minister K Jana Reddy as part of the JAC's strategy to mount pressure on the Congress ministers from the region.
