Entha simplegaa pedarayudu theerpu cheppavu. Ikkada inkonchem detail gaa vundi choodu. MEERUT: The ajab prem ki ghazab kahani, that rocked the western Uttar Pradesh town last fortnight, has taken a sad twist. Remember the young husband who had asked his bride to tie him a 'rakhi' so that she could reunite with her lover! Now it turns out that the girl's lover actually her first husband, since the two had allegedly earlier got married in a secret ceremony has dumped her and is avoiding contact with her. On Sunday, the district administration called Aarti (the girl) and her husband (Nitesh) to the police counselling centre. The couple turned down the suggestion to live together saying they had already accepted each other as brother and sister. When the counsellors tried to contact the lover (Vinit), he refused to meet them saying there was a threat to his life. "Vinit has backed out of accepting Aarti for some reason. On persuasion from her parents, Aarti has agreed to go back to them to them following a written agreement at the police counseling centre," said Meerut superintendent of police (city), Prabal Pratap Singh. Asked if Aarti's family would not be unkind to her, Singh said, "Her father knows that he could face police action if he mistreats her." Nitesh said, " I have no regrets. Aarti was already married. Now, she is like my sister. Let us see if we can somehow get Aarti and Vinit together." The bizarre wedding created newspaper headlines a fortnight ago. The strangest part was that Nitesh, a 21-year-old supervisor in an IT company, was earlier engaged to marry Aarti's elder sister. But when she eloped with a trainee police sub-inspector before the marriage, her father, asked Nitesh to marry her younger sister Aarti. The wedding took place on May 6. |

Meerut: It was a real life story that seemed to have been lifted straight out of bollywood - a husband who said his wife would now become his sister just so that she could be reunited with her estranged lover. Nitish Tyagi, a resident of Meerut made his wife Aarti tie him a rakhi on May 6 after he found out that she was already in love with Vineet. But in a bizarre turn of events, Vineet's family has now said Vineet and Aarti were never a couple and say the girl's family is putting pressure on them. Aarti has returned to her parents' home now but her family says Nitish's decision to make Aarti his sister was all a plot to get her to leave his home. They now want the couple to reunite as husband and wife. Aarti's mother said, "If he could first make her a sister, he can also make the sister hs wife." Aarti said, "I will live only with Vineet, no one else." Aarti though still insists that she will only live with Vineet but with Vineet yet to come forward and accept Aarti as his wife this is one love story that will probably not end with 'and they lived happily ever after'. |
