Switch to lowest min plan available for few months.... But the catch is, if you switch to 550 min plan then you will lose 5500 mins immediately... but customer service rep can credit most of them back to you (like 4000 to 4500). Let's say you are @ work and needs to access certain website which is blocked @ work... wt would you do? This is where tethering comes in handy  And what if you need to go online while driving/traveling.. You can only do so much on iPhone. And tethering comes in handy here again...
