It looks like all is not well yet between the Congress high command and Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who is hell bent on continuing his Odarpu Yatra. Jagan on Tuesday claimed that the Congress high command had given him approval to resume his controversial Odarpu Yatra (consolation tour) in different parts of Andhra Pradesh, barring in Telangana. He told the media after a 20-minute meeting with AICC in-charge of AP affairs Veerappa Moily in New Delhi on Tuesday that he would start the tour from Srikakulam in the north-coastal Andhra from June 8. He said he had clarified all the doubts of the high command with regard to his tour. “Moily told me to go ahead with my tour and continue whatever I am doing,” he said. He reiterated that he would resume his tour in Telangana districts after the forthcoming by-elections to 12 assembly seats in the region. Congress sources, however, said the high command has taken Moily’s go-ahead to Jagan seriously. Within hours of Jagan claiming high command approval for his tour, there was a message from Sonia’s office that there was no permission for Jagan’s tour. Sonia Gandhi’s political advisor Ahmed Patel is understood to have told Moily to give a clarification to that effect. | ||
