v-man : delpo was wrong on that challenge. he waited too long to challenge that. he definitely abused the rule, like he used to do with the medical time-outs (djokovic gives him company on that front). fed still did not blame delpotro, he was pissed at the chair-umpire for allowing it. that is a huge drawback with the challenge system. many times players wait to get signals from the crowd or their box to decide whether to challenge or not. fed has been one of the many guys who think that is not fair. and ofcourse fed hates the hawk-eye. i donot think fed changed one bit he has talked like this since 2004..... he has called on djokovic when he was abusing the medical time out rule (later a-rod did it too...) he called rafa's uncle for on-court illegal coaching..... etc etc..... i have not seen any sportsman be able to analyse the game he plays as beautifully as fed does..... warne comes the closest! and when he has to assess fellow players he gives them due criticism...... win or lose. he has always been so.... and remember he does the assessment only when he is asked, he doesn't volunteer this stuff. He never was.. but once he broke sampras record + FO title, somehow he became a different person.. trash talk ekkuvayyindi.. ••••• burru laadadam ekkuvayyindi.. Del potro tried to challenge a call.. and couldnt.. then after the game they receded to the chairs and fed was telling him, you cannot challenge that call.. pure balupu tho koodina comment adi.. i think murray plays passive. he waits one shot too many to make his move and that against an attacking player like gonzalez (fo 2009), a-rod (wimby 2009), cilic( uso 09), fed (ao 10) means death. he has as much variety as roger but he pulls the trigger too late. he has to get more agressive and set the tempo of the match rather than have the other guy do that and whip his rump. murray forehnd kanna, his backhand is the bigger weapon. fed would prefer the forehand to murray's backhand. (strangely murray is more aggressive with his backhand than with his forehand) and his serving is so bad, it makes me feel better about my own stupid serve. v-man : if their fellow players vote aussies for their sportsmanship, i am sure they would have deserved it. fed is a sore loser? i just think he is brutally frank. he just says things as how he sees it. they may not be always to your liking, but they are not too far off the truth or delusional enough to term fed a sore loser. guess who said this after he retired when he was down 2sets and down a break in the 3rd set to nadal, in a quarter final match in paris. "i was in total control of that match" now that is delusional and sour grapes. fed was quite cordial to delpotro at the USopen final. what did he say there that offended you? Dont bring statistics into account. Even australians [crick] look good when you bring the stats. Why is this? Coz a grandslam generates more revenue or it gives a player more points? Even when I play a gully cricket, I put my max effort and like to win. Murray plays aggressive but he doesnt appear playing so. His powerful forehad cross court short, even fed has trouble picking it up. The only thing murray needs to work on is confidence against fed. Somehow he carries this huge baggage on his back when playing fed. I have no issue when fed comments on other players game.. consider it as sledging off the court  He definitely is a sore looser.. Forget about auzzie/wimbledon losses.. What about his rants against del potro in US '09 finals? In this db, there's always someone watching you!! | ||

I dont think there is any shame in losing to Nadal on clay. Since 2005 Monaco, nadal lost 4 times on clay and 2 of them have come at the hands of Roger federer. time and again roger keeps ramming into the wall, knowing full well he is totally up against it. that lefty top spin to a single hand backhand with fed's grip is a killer shot. you have to experience the feeling to understand what a challenge it is. i got beaten by a friend who i have never lost to, recently. we played on a clay court in bangalore and this guy is a lefty who never won a set against me. the purchase you can get from a clay court for your top-spin is unbelievable. i hit my shots flatter and this friend of mine kept spinning the lefty forehand top spin away from my backhand. and my friend doesn't even employ the extreme forehand grip that all these claycourters have been employing since the time of the romans! i have a bum shoulder and have not played tennis since then. it is totally brutal. the only way to counter the topspin is with an extreme grip like the one gasquet used brilliantly against the scotman today. or the one gaudio has (who by the way is the only other active player to beat nadal multiple times on clay). another obvious way is the double-handed backhand. i dont think fed can adopt either of these changes. i think fed comes with his honor intact even if he loses to nadal in the final. V-man : fed is an a-hole? a sore loser? i wonder why he got voted 6times in a row for the stefan edberg sportsmanship award by his peers? (even edberg, after whom the award is named, won it 5times in a row.) the reason is cause fed is super popular with the players. i donot think a sore loser will be so popular with people he loses to or beats often. fed is grumpy after a loss, but who is not? most people mumble out some pr-scripted lines and walk away, fed gives the media a piece of his mind. it is not always fun, but that is what you get prying into the head of an extremely competitive athlete in an ultra-gladiatorial sport. i would rather fed speak his mind than utter platitudes we have been hearing since my grandma's time. also, what fed said was totally logical. he said the french is more important than the 3masters, which is as true as the sun rises in the east. rafa is going to be so devastated if he doesn't win the french like last year. those 3masters are at best consolation. the slams are where the big boys play and that is exactly what roger said. people made similar issues when roger said nadal was a one-dimensional player. which is true, he wins about 2/3 of his titles on 1 surface. look at federer's record - that is the record of a totally multi-dimensional player. similarly roger said murray needs to play attacking tennis and not be passive to win big tournaments. people heavily criticised fed then (that was in early 2008). cut to AO 2010 and even geoffrey boycott's mum was screaming at murray to play aggressive tennis and not let the opponent dictate the terms, if he ever wants to win a slam. judging by today's match, murray is yet to learn that lesson. gasquet played some super tennis the 1st 2 sets and his poor fitness opened door for murray. i hope murray uses this fortune to go atleast till the semis. having said all this, it will be a bigger miracle than last year if rafa loses this year. the man with the best chance to do so carries a swiss and south african pass port. it is a minute chance, but a chance, nonetheless....
