Filters at work - evariki nachinattu vallu interpret chestaru If you dispense useful information to two people - one will evaluate and accept if applicable, another will be affronted and think who on earth does she think she is to direct us As far as I am concerned 100 mandi lo okalliki panikochina worth it anukuntanu so these singles are a non-issue for me aa chal ke tujhe main leke chalu ik aise gagan ke tale jahan gam bhi na ho, aansoo bhi na ho,bas pyaar hi pyaar pale |

I read some of this a few years back and was explaining to my son last night about behaviours, perception and understanding...and thought it might be useful some folks here Someone once said "We don't see things as they are , we see things as we are" We all have view the world from our different vantage points through different filters - and hence we see different things Understanding our own filters and paradigms and those of the people we interact with help build more productive relationships So what are these filters ...? Some of the things that filter and color our perception and affect how we understand and interpret others are listed below Mood - is a huge factor in how we perceive things. A high mood state makes problems look smaller while a low mood state will make a mountain out of a molehill. Be aware of your mood. Don't make decisions when you are in a low mood state ...sleep on an issue and address it the next day when you are in a better mood... Memories and Past experiences - these condition the brain subliminally to instinctively react. However, triggers that kickstart a kneejerk response based on past experience may not always be relevant in the current situation - Be mindful of your reactions and understand why you react the way you do.. Beliefs and Selective perception - our beliefs cause us to see only part of the picture...learn to shake the cognitive egg and see what falls out...walk in another person's shoes to understand what he sees that you don't Behavior style: Lock in-lock out... depending on behavior style, when people feel threatened, they will hold on tighter to their point of view - lock themselves into righteously justifying their stand and locking others out. This is the point of communication breakdown. Be cognizant of when that is happening in yourself or others and learn to back off...pick it up some other day when both of you are more receptive to each other The last one has come in extremely handy many times especially with growing kids -it helps if as parents we have the control to back off when we hit a brick wall and talk with a fresh mood and attitude the next day aa chal ke tujhe main leke chalu ik aise gagan ke tale jahan gam bhi na ho, aansoo bhi na ho,bas pyaar hi pyaar pale |
