Anand_n:we are the only support system our kids have here - no extended family..they did not ask to be brought up here , we made the choice to raise them here, so the onus is on us
Unfortunately, 90% MISS this. They(WE) want to live up to the whimce and fancy of ours... WE think about our stay, our confort, our FLEXIBLE, our SAVINGS,

Parenting is always a gamble  But we try ...
To my mind the only answer is to communicate, communicate, communicate...
Know your child, what's happening in their lives, what's happening in their friend's lives, know their friend's parents...
Educate the child on the consequences of actions...instead of just saying something is taboo...and hope and pray they understand and can act on that
And really blaming sleepovers may be a little immature - sleepovers are usually same sex and happen under parental supervisionDon't send kids over unless you trust the parents...
If we made the choice to live here , we have to find ways to work with our children in this culture...Monitor internet and social media usage - ee madhya internet bullying avutundi ani articles chadivanu.
And finally , we can only control so much ,so in the worst case scenario if after all our efforts still don't work the way we want , we still need to forgive their mistakes and support our kids through their hard times - always remember , we are the only support system our kids have here - no extended family..they did not ask to be brought up here , we made the choice to raise them here, so the onus is on us

that issue did not happen in my circle. one of my friends had a circle in another state (peru marchadamainadi) and when we met them over the weekend they were concerned and were talking to us about them.
To be frank if it happens to someone in my circle or to me i dont know how i will react. for now i just pray it should NOT happen to anyone. thats it

Bottom line....ask the parents to support the kid.....make her feel it is ok....and stand by her......her life just took another direction than the normal herd.....society and crap lite....
if possible as a friend, accept them and the kid as a natural/normal outcome........better than sympathetic tone and other conceited shxit with lotsa contempt....
