If you already paid 100K towards principle then it may not be a good idea. But if it is just the paper loss then who cares?

Nenu anduke athi telivi tho 5% down chesaa 4 years ago. Dost 20 down chesaadu. Ippudu worst case lo nenu easy gaa walkout cheyochu... but he can't. So it depends on the situation.

Yes, credit score will be impacted but if u dont have any plans to buy another house or new car in next 4-5 years then it doesn't matter much, right?

Maa company rule prakaram 30 days kanna payrol run kakunda untene problem. So 3 weeks ko okasare payrol run kadhu and next payrol lo oka week pay vuntundhi kabatti no probs.

It depends on daring nature of the indivudal.

I have posted this many times in the DB. I bought my house when i was L1 from desi company. No h1, no hope of GC and desi company might ask you to go back anytime on L1... So it depends on the person. I wanted to buy a house and i bought it. Emaithe adi avutundi light anukunna.

At the end of the day SONTHA INTI ki vache feeling veru. Own house iche feeling, freedom rental apts lo ekkada vasthundi? No comparision at all.

Job emundi bro.. linkedin lo profile vunte we don't even have to look for the job. People come to you with offers... So you don't have to move anywhere...

I agree with bi-weekly mode but too much head ache anipisthundi naaku. Instead you can pay 5 or 10K towards principle once a year. Same effect, right?

Completely agree. As you can see from my posts below.. my closing costs for re-fi are quoted at 2000 bucks but i am still negotiating to bring them down. If i can get them to 1500 or so then i will break-even in less than 4-5 months.

Also, If you have already owned your house for more than 7-8 years then it may not be a good idea to re-fi unless you can cut the loan term to 25 or less.

closing cost 2000 annadu... write off some of those fees ante i will knock off some to get it down to 1400 annadu..

We may go for a bigger house (if we stay in usa) down the line 3-5 years... So 5/1 ARM is good option right? Why pay more interest on 30 year fixed?
