I have LG BD-390 which works nice and expect the BD570 the same. Features choosi, nenu last month samsung c6500 konna, but disappointed. Lot of media formats are not supported to play over network. Final ga samsung player return chesina. So, your choice should be obvious. | ||

personally I don't recommend downloading any english movies. MPAA will knock your door sooner or later. Nuvvu bluray rip chesukovalante, first netflix/blockbuster membership theesuko. Next, get a BD-ROM drive and use DVDFab to rip. Ripping is CPU intensive, so desktop performs better unless you have a core i5/i7 laptop. | ||

I will give you pros/cons here bluray player: plays bluray and other discs. most support netflix which is a big plus. very few support network media playback (LG/Samsung), but to limited formats. Youy home network could be a bottleneck. Difficult to upgrade firmware. WDTV and similar: no disc playback. Can play most media formats, both local and networked. Easy to upgrade firmware and codecs. No netflix support. Can play bluray rips. bluray drive on pc/laptop: plays all discs incl bluray. network playback possible for all formats. netflix supported. You can rip bluray discs yourself. The drawbacks are maintaining a dedicated pc/laptop, patching, security upgrades, waiting for boot ups etc. | ||

Good deal but use caution. Looks at HTPC's and figure out which one is better. I would vote for HTPC any day.
