Vikings, Packers and Lions - all in need of good CB. Vikings signed Lito Sheppard as insurance option but still they are looking to draft someone for future. packers Al Harris is getting old, they know it and he knows it. So sooner or later they might want to address that issue. Lions were interested to Pacman Jones prior to draft but that didnt work out so they will aggresively pursue CB in 2nd and 3rd rds. | ||

Bears may trade LBs Jamar williams or Hunter Hillenmeyer to move up in draft tonight. They are targetting Nate Allen of Florida State. They are desperate for a free safety and right now they pick at 75th overall (3rd round) and by the time they are on the clock all good safeties might go. So it makes sense for them to move up in the draft. | ||

Moving the the 1 st rd to prime time weekday proved to be a winner for NFL and the drama that happened was even more good. Some highlights 1)Fall of Jimmy Clausen - not being picked up by any team in the 1st rd is major blow and Tebow getting picked up at 25 overall was even bigger blow to Clausen. Tebow was thought to be a developmental project and he getting drafted by Denver puts Cluasen in bad shape. 2) Tim Tebow - Denver HC Josh McDummy another dramatic " Its my way or Highway" thinking benefitted Tebow. Almost all scouts unanimously thought Tebow needs major development to play at pro level but Mcdummy drafted him anyway. The interestign thing is Mcdummy gave up 3 late rd picks to draft Tebow at 25. Almost everyone thinks that too much for Tebow becuase tebow could have been available in later rounds. 3) Dez bryant - Another Mcdummy googly.. Bryant was available and considered top WR in the draft but they bypassed Bryant to pick Demarius Thomas. jerry Jones got lucky and Cowboys got a huge playmaker. The 2nd rd will start tonight and with Clausen and Colt Mccoy still available on the board it will be interesting to see if Vikings will pick Clausen at no.34. Personally I liked Detroit Lions draft last night. They got a very good player in Ndamukong Suh and an exciting RB in Jahvid Best. |
