(WOOD) - From Iowa to Michigan, several people saw an apparent meteor light up the sky late Wednesday night. Several West Michigan residents called 24 Hour News 8 shortly after 11 p.m., saying they saw the fireball in the western sky. "I was looking out the window to the west and saw what at first I thought was a shooting star, until I realized it was much bigger," Ionia County resident Clint Hoppes wrote in an e-mail to 24 Hour News 8. "Then it turned red and looked as though sparks were coming from it." Storm Team 8 Chief Meteorologist Bill Steffen said reports of the meteor are coming in from Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Indiana, North Dakota and South Dakota. |
