Make sure your Charity organization in USA have received their 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Last year i donated to a local church here .....at that time my CPA told churches are exceptional they dont need to have 501(c)(3) But i think you cannot claim money you donated to charities in India from USA... If you have a company in USA and India......you can do it | ||

true bro, thank you. anni AID, sankar eye foundation type donations. so, they are valid. That reminds me of another question - I gave a huge donation in India. But their website only says this "donations are exempt under IT Act 80G". Guess this means I can't deduct in US taxes right? | ||

Claim your tax deduction on 1040 Schedule A. Make sure you are contributing to a qualified tax-exempt oraganization You need to itemize your deductions...... | ||
