The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is looking into the multi-crore Satyam fraud case, has alleged that the disgraced founder of the company, B Ramalinga Raju — who is currently admitted in the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) — has many unauthorised visitors. Raju met around 250 visitors during the past four months flouting norms, the CBI contended. Raju is being treated for Hepatitis C and liver disorders at the state-run hospital for the past several months. The doctors at the hospital, in the latest health report to the court, had said he needs another three-to-four weeks to be medically fit to appear before the court. Nandini Raju, wife of B Ramalinga Raju, and sons B Teja Raju and B Rama Raju Jr, are said to have permission to meet him. The CBI has alleged that many visitors, including advocates, have met him for long hours and also that NIMS doctors are producing false medical reports that could delay his conviction. Special Judge VVLN Chakravarthi has now called for explanation from the Chanchalguda prison superintendent, where Raju was housed earlier. It is also said that even as the CBI revealed this on Wednesday morning to the court, the Crime Investigation Department (CID), which had probed the Satyam case prior to the CBI, has started verifying the visitors' list. The court posted for orders on April 6, a petition filed by Mahindra Satyam, seeking the release of company records, which were seized by CBI. Jai NTR, Jai Jai TDP |
