Not only 200 years, scriptures document sages living up to 1000 years. But not all yogis want to live that long. What will a yogi do by living 200 years? Its not the benchmark. The whole purpose of yoga is to have a total control on your body first and then mind. Once you reach samadhi, the longing for life is gone. A yogi strives to get to that stage. The time varies from person to person. True disciples always have great respects for their gurus. Vivekananda trembled whenever he was forced to talk about his guru and he considered ramakrishna a greater soul than rama, buddha and krishna. Krishnamacharya was born in 1888 in a remote Indian village and lived to be over 100 years old until his death in 1989. He is known as not only as a most influential yoga teacher, but a scholar, and a healer.
