Naidu toes Lalu line, talks about BC quota

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu seems to be obviously envious of the Congress government for successfully securing the Women’s quota bill passed in Rajya Sabha.

While he was compelled to support the women’s bill in view of the popular demand, Naidu has raised the fresh demand on the lines of Rashtriya Janata Dal president Laloo Prasad Yadav and Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav: provision of reservations for backward classes and minorities in Lok Sabha and the state assemblies.

Naidu said he would wholeheartedly support the women’s quota bill but he would also continue his struggle for securing reservations for BCs and minorities in the legislature bodies. He said it was TDP government which had introduced BC quota in local bodies and municipalities. “We will focus on the BC quota in Lok Sabha and state assemblies,” he said.

Apparently, Naidu is trying to join hands with Laloo and Mulayam, who have threatened to withdraw their support to the UPA. In future, Naidu may revive his third front plans again!
