"You article is a very intresting and fascinating piece. Its smacks of arrogance and ignorance(purposeful?) of ones own shortcomings. It clearly shows you have not been to a school of journalism. As no one in english television media seem to know the differencet between Advetrial/Editorial Fact Based Article/Biased Opinion! If you take the example of Fox News as being right wing, then you will so have to take MSNBC which is at the exact opposite end and an extreme left wing channel. CNN also has left leaning but is not to the extreme yet. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about your channel though. The good thing in the US is there are two different media orgnaization at the extreme ends providing the viwers with different opinions and they make their appropiate choice. Having followed the US elections/Media closely I can say, India clearly needs it version of Fox news badly as all the other channels are clearly in the MSNB mould with none being in the CNN mould This clearly lacking in India with almost all media houses being mouth peices of the Congress, Left and totally anti-hindu (not just anit-bjp). A courageous honest Fair and Balanced journalist is one who reports facts as it is, irrecptive of whether he personally likes it or not. A lot of us used to love and admire you during your Big Fight days. Sadly, you have flipped completely and you lost all credibility after your behvaiour in the 'Cash for Votes' scandal. Hope at some point you will realize your folly and we can see the old Rajdeep again!" ----------------------------------- "I agree with most of the comments written by the readers of the article, may be a bit euphemistically than the harsh words used by some readers. Indeed English media has become a strong votary for congress and its victory. Its priorities are very biased and in all honesty they used the word "Hindutava" more number of times per day than BJP itself. Media should be a very responsible section and lot of people look towards it while making their opinions or even voting decisions. The editors of news channels got so inherently biased that they justify what they are doing and they go to any extent to prove that they are not biased. In my opinion "the concept of editor-in-chief" should be scrapped and there should be a editorial body of people with great integrity and it should be given the present powers of editor-in-chief. Last but not the least, news channels should focus more on news than views. They can propagate their views through blogs or twitter but should not mix with news. At the moment please don't joke by saying CNN-IBN is fair and balanced. " ------------------------ You of all should not be championing the cause of "fair" and "Just". Rahul gandhi boards a local train becomes headline news for you but Narendra Modi visiting villages to ensure girl child education and 100% electrification of all villages in the heat of gujarat summer does not even find a mention in the bottom scroll of your channel. On the other hand if there is even an iota of miniscule, insignificant -ve news about Modi it becomes big headlines for you and you use all your might and journalistic jargons to paint him in a Devil's avatar. Be frank is CNN-IBN Fair and Just. Ofcourse we all know Fox News is a rival of CNN. You have to be critical about Fox right. I know your limitations and frustrations Rajdeep so please do not project yourself at a high moral ground. -------------------------------------- It is very interesting that Congress Mouthpiece CNN-IBN's Chif editor writing about the Fair and Balanced view of Foxnews, claiming that it is the mouth piece of Republicans. First of this is not necessary to Indian English media, how media in other countries work, due to many and obvious reasons. Let me give a free tip to Rajdeep Sardesai. You wanted to know the meaning of Fair and Balanced, Right? Listen, in this article you have written about FoxNews and Sarah Palin, in the same note, if you would have covered other points of views like CNN that keeps saying MOST TRUSTED NEWS or so, if you woud have compared them, the you would have been a FAIR and Balanced one. But you NOT the one and you have not done so. So you got the lesson of journalism without going to school! Rajdeep, with all due respect how long you think you can divide and rule public like this. It is not just you but who ever it is. You said there amny who dangerously going in that direction. If some has not told you already, YOU ARE DANGEROUSLY GONE LEFT! so much so that you don't even consider the mistakes as mistakes. I hope time will teach you, eventually, what is fair and balanced, at least when Congress is out of power. I would wait for that day and given a chance I would ask the same questions to you and your channel. ----------------------------------------- I am even surprised to see Rajdeep is talking about Fox Channel which is indeed truely balanced and fair, lot better than other channels including most of the Indian English channels (CNN-IBN inclusive) which side with Congress or Left. If you look at debates, most of the times BJP spoksperson will be pitted against 4 (as Ravishankar Prasad famously mentioned during a debate that it is 1 vs 5) and the worst part is, as you have mentioned the entire debate will follow predictable lines including your concluding remarks which will go in favor of Congress/Left viewpoint citing reasons that 1 Vs 4 logic!!!! You must be the last person talking about Credibility - I am sure you don't have guts to publish my comments for obvious reasons!!! ------------------------------------ Rajdeep, Dont we have Fox news equivalent in India??? Are you kidding?? What about your own channel?? Worshipping Nehru-Gandhi family, Admiration for Rahul Gandhi even though he has not proved his calibre in any Govt ministry..Just because he is trying to bring in a culture of democracy within his own party ( which is filled with sycophants), does not make him a prime minister material. And no need to get into the vicious campaign that you people carried out against Narendra Modi during last Guj assembly elections.. Why do you think you got padmashree award at the first place ?? Instead of telecasting the sting operation by BJP the same footage was sent to the Speaker. It shows the bias and no where it appeared to be fair and balanced. Khabar har keemat par. I still can not under its meaning or what I could understand is that every news has its price. ************** If you are anywhere close to "fair and balanced", its only on twitter and blogs, but on CNN IBN you seem to be (i am not using "you are") as "fair and balanced" as the channel you are criticizing on this post. It pains me to see my favourite newsreader being so clearly biased towards a political party. I am sure you have your reasons but people like you have a massive responsibility, and by being so biased towards "the party" for the last 6 years, you are on the path of doing far more damage to the country than the people whose side you dont take. Dont think that I am a BJP supporter, I used to be. But I support the congress now, but still your, your channel's and the entire media's bias towards them depresses me.
