Youth ends life for failing to get job SANGAREDDY: S. Lakshmaiah (25), a native of Hoti B village in Zaheerabad mandal in Medak district, died while being treated in a hospital in Hyderabad early Friday. This was the first suicide demanding employment in the three-month Telangana agitation. According to police, Lakshmaiah was one of the aspirants from the Telangana who applied for a technical job for which a test was conducted on February 14. He also took active part in the agitation held on the campus demanding allocation of 80 per cent jobs to locals. Protesting the non-allocation of jobs to locals in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Lakshmaiah attempted suicide at the main gate of the company on Thursday night. He was immediately shifted to hospital where he succumbed. | ||
