ABVP members demand resignation of TDP MLA Correspondent MAHABUBNAGAR: Demanding the resignation of TDP MLA from Narayanpet Y. Yellareddy, members of ABVP staged a dharna in front of his residence at Narayanpet town in the district on Wednesday. After some time, the agitators threw tomatoes and other things at the MLA’ house. Members of PDSU, demanding the resignation of Congress municipal chairperson Shashikala, staged a dharna in front of her house. Ms. Shashikala asked the agitators to give her five days’ time to take a decision. Kishan Reddy develops cold feet Bharatiya Janata Party MLA G Kishan Reddy appears to have developed cold feet on his resignation from the assembly membership on Telangana issue. Kishan Reddy was away from Hyderabad when his colleague from Nizamabad Lakshminarayana submitted his resignation. He, then, said he would also quit the post once he returned to Hyderabad. But that did not happen. Kishan Reddy attended the Governor’s address on Monday and then the assembly again on Tuesday. When media persons asked him, he said he would quit the assembly very soon. But, party sources say Kishan Reddy convinced the party leadership that it was necessary for him to stay in the assembly in order to represent the party’s views and public issues in the assembly. “All the other parties have some representation in the House. We have only two members. So, it is essential to fight on behalf of the party on all issues,” he is learnt to have told the party leadership. The fact, however, is that Kishan Reddy is still a long way to go to recover the expenditure he had incurred in the elections. Everybody knows that he had a match fixing with the Congress and the TDP in the last elections from Amberpet; so, he had to continue that fixing even now. |
