My prayers for being able to cook authentic fish pulusu at home were answered during the weekend.. Found this recipe online: http://thatstelugu.oneindia.in/recipes/nonvegetarian/2009/10 /pulasa-pulusu-101009.html Also found that the Hilsa fish that are being sold here in our desi grocery shop is indeed the prized Pulasa fish available in godari distrcits.. Had some trouble in cleaning the scales and innards as the store only sells frozen one but after defrosting the steaks in fridge since morning, they seemed like "almost" fresh ones.. The taste was amazing, close to the one I had in india.. but only gripe is that the fish has lot of small bones.. so have to be careful while eating.. which is a turnoff though fish tatsted like our india fish... Will be going to try with Tilapia this weekend as it does not contain that many bones.. |
