Try to walk more. Ear dinner at least 2 hr before and go for walk for 10 minutes before sleep.

Take warm milk with sugar.

Try to workout in the morning 2 weeks in a row and see if that helps. I used to workout in the evening around 6pm and wouldn't be able to sleep until 1 or 2 in the night.

Once I switched to morning workouts the sleep issue went away. It took a while for the body to adjust - 2 or 3 weeks.

I will start meditation as many pointed out, this is something I have not done as I did not have that much confidence..


nidra pattakapovadam kanna..nidra ravadam ledhu ane feeling inka ekkuva nidra ponivvakunda chestundi....First Donot expect anything....DOnt crave for sleep, Dont compare today's sleep with tomorrow/yesterday.....Just follow asa it goes....watch movies, read books, go out, eat well....Even though u meditate strongly tell u r self NOT to compare results NOT to expect results....if you expect something from then the unhappiness starts..

For me, If I take nap even for 5 to 10 min. in the afternoons, then forget about getting sleep until 3 or 4 AM that night.

I get sleep easily but once I get up after 5 hours of sleep, I can not get any more. Also, its not as sound as it used to be. I do not have any stress from work consciously. Sometimes stress can be present subconsciously, at least that is what my dietitian/nutritionist told me.

I will start meditation as many pointed out, this is something I have not done as I did not have that much confidence..

You dont get sleep?? what happens if u start sleeping? get tensions? or wierd dreams? or thoughts??? for me it takes 2 mins to slip into sleep...if you stop thinking about u r worries (I would say stop thinking about anything)u can get good sleep...

Kalikalam, I am worried about long term effects. In the short term, it looks ok. But not sure if 5 hours is good enough in the long run.. I usually invest A LOT of money in my health so I lead healthy life when I am old. But this sleep thingy is something I have not been able to conquer. I have done so many experiments, yoga, diet change before bed time, change of exercise/timing.. place.., time of sleep... but success in this aspect is still evading me..

I have same problem (Less sleep). For almost 3 to 4 days of a week, I cann't sleep until 2 AM or 3 AM (sometimes 4 AM also) and I get up around 7 or 7.30 AM. One day or 2 days in a week, I easily go into sleep at 10 or 11 PM. This is kind of becoming routine.

I don't feel stressed out with less sleep and my lack of sleep doesn't affect my work during day time. I am concerned about this lack of sleep. Hope I don't have any drastic health problem.

this is true in some cases. particularly if u r taking nutrition/muscle supplements. the amount of energy that is waiting to be spent makes u restless. I rem I used to feel very irritated before going to sleep.

try stopping your exercise for some time and see if it makes any difference. it could be that due to your exercise some harmones might be released in to your blood that are making you sleep for less time.

Annai....infact enni gantalu padukunnam anna danikanna entha sound sleep vesam important...try to meditate before u go bed for 30 mins..or do pranayama/yoga/anyohter excersizes..

i guess the problem is with stress ...
does ur eyes strain a lot at the end of the day ..
u work at home, come watch tv, and then laptop .. if u r doing that, ur eyes could be the problem ... see if u can skip tv/laptop at home and read from a book or do something else ... u might end up sleeping more .. just a guess.

naku same prob unde.. 1st lo 10 hours min padukunevadini.. shifts lo work seyadam modalettaka melukuni unnappudu antha full headache vachedhi.. 5 hours ki minchi sleep vachedi kadu.. mostly late sleep..padukunna 2 hours ki nidra pattedi.. doctor daggarki velthe CT SCAN annadu.. cheinchukunna.. problem emi ledu.. naprocin tab ichadu inko combination tho.. 1 month vadaka 4 months bagunindhi.. ippudu malli start.. :-( ... DB doctors edaina jabbu sachindhemo naku seppundri flees..

i recall reading some article that said as you age you need lesser sleep for your body to charge up. children and teens need most sleep ani. if you feel fresh after you wake up then you are good
