:D ... thanks apparao ...

my problem now got reversed ... Windows 7 is missing in the boot menu now :D

Also, I couldn't to find stage1 and menu.lst in the grub ...

Why I need to fix the grub? - I installed Oracle in Ubuntu, it's a big headache to install that again. So I don't want to wipe everything and install again. I can do that for windows though :D

idandi problem ... solution cheppara evarainaa

was using ubuntu karmic ... have installed windows 7 recently

now the problem is boot menu not recognising the ubuntu

I saw some fix for this online

Open live cd
open terminal

sudo grub
find /boot/grub/stage1 or find /grub/stage1
root(hdX,Y)
setup(hd0)
quit

but I am getting this error after that setup (hd0) step ... "stage1 not found"

Can anyone help me on this?

Note: (I am completely new to Ubuntu) :D
