'Vidyarthi polikeka' ends in a fiasco The âVidyarthi Polikekaâ (Students shouting) held at Kakatiya University campus on Sunday evening ended on a stormy note, following clashes between two groups of students, spoiling the very spirit of Telangana. The trouble sparked off when Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi chief Manda Krishna Madiga interrupted the speech of singer Desapathi Srinivas and started speaking. It ensued in the clash between students who wanted to listen to Despathiâs songs and MRPS activists. While MRPS activists manhandled Desapathi, the Telangana students pushed aside Manda Krishna. There were slogans against Manda Krishna and counter-slogans against Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao. It is very sad that such a historic meeting ended in a mess, thanks to highhanded behaviour of certain leaders, who think themselves larger than the cause. |
