Let us be grounded in human affairs, with a human touch, related to human endeavours, of human possibilities, for peace and friendliness among humans. Earlier we use to sing we shall overcome..., I hope the future is about no more wars, conflict, racism, castism, colorism, biases but of cooperation for progress of mankind

Buddhism

When this is, that is.
From the arising of this comes the arising of that.
When this isn't, that isn't.
From the cessation of this comes the cessation of that

Nasadiya Sukta
Verse 1

Sanskrit Transliteration:
Na asat aseat na u sat aseat tadanem na aseet rajo na vyoma paro yat
Kim avarivah kuha kasya sharmann ambhah kim aseat gahanam ghabheeram
English Translation:
Then there was neither non-existence nor existence;
There was no realm of air, no sky beyond it.
What covered it, and where? What gave it shelter?
Was there water there, unfathomed depth of water?

Verse 2

Sanskrit Transliteration:
Na mrityuh aseat amritam na tarhi na raatrya ahna aseat praketah
Aaneet avaatam svadhaya tad ekam tasmad ha anyad na parah kim chana aseaet
English Translation:
Death was not then, nor was there aught immortal;
No sign was there, the day’s and night’s divider.
That One Thing, breathless, breathed by its own nature;
Apart from it was nothing whatsoever.

Verse 3

Sanskrit Transliteration:
Tama aseat tamasa goolham agre apraketam salilam sarvam aa idam
Tuchyena aabhu apihitam yad aaseet tapasah tan mahina ajaayata ekam
English Translation:
Darkness there was at first, concealed in darkness;
All this was undistinguished, formless ocean.
That which was hidden and void, that One
Was born through the power of fiery heat (Tapas).

Verse 4

Sanskrit Transliteration:
Kaamas tad agre sam avartata adhi manaso retah prathamam yad aaseet
Sato bandhum asati nir avindan hridi prateeshya kavayo maneesha
English Translation:
Desire (Kama) arose in the beginning,
Which was the first seed of mind.
Sages seeking in their hearts with wisdom
Discovered the bond of existence in non-existence.

Verse 5

Sanskrit Transliteration:
Tirashcheeno vitato rashmir esham adhah svid aseat upari svid aaseet
Retodha aasan mahimaana aasan svadha avastat prayatih parastat
English Translation:
Their dividing line was extended across;
What was above it, and what was below it?
There were seed-bearers, there were mighty forces;
Free action here below, and energy up above.

Verse 6

Sanskrit Transliteration:
Ko addha veda ka iha pra vochat kuta aajata kuta iyam visrishtih
Arvag deva asya visarjanena atha ko veda yata aababhova
English Translation:
Who really knows? Who will here proclaim it?
Whence was it produced? Whence is this creation?
The gods came afterwards, with the creation of this universe.
Who then knows whence it has arisen?

Verse 7

Sanskrit Transliteration:
Iyam visrishtir yata aababhova yadi va dadhe yadi va na
Yo asya adhyakshah parame vyoman so anga veda yadi va na veda
English Translation:
He, the first origin of this creation,
Whether he formed it all or did not form it,
He who looks down upon it from the highest heaven—
He truly knows it... or perhaps even He does not know.
