Yes,if you invest at bloated valuation For ex:When a start up first goes for funding ,say it is valued at $1 million and if your invest $100k,you will be holding 10% of shares As time goes by and if it is successful,it may be going for more funding rounds,the valuation will also be increasing .Say by Final round if the valuation has increased to $10 million,your 10% share value will become $1 million In case of unicorns like UBER, your 10% value ,instead of becoming 1 million it will be 1 billion But if you have invested in later stages when valuation is almost at peak,you will not gain much after IPO | ||
