He visits your home, weighs, takes apic of each item with it's weight and writes a report. He gives 2 copies. https://www.google.com/maps/search/jewelry+appraisal+near+Hy derabad,+Telangana,+India/@17.3914848,78.4481663,11.73z 2. Need to take these 2 copies to customs before boarding return flight. Customs officer verifies everything on the list and signs both copies. Retains one copy and give you the other copy. That is what you need to take every time you go to India along with the jewelry. | ||

Depends on the customs officer. If you end up carrying each jewellery item in a separate box, you would end up attracting attention. I usually carry mine in ziplock bags and put them in a hand bag during travel. But definitely if you are carrying huge vaddanam it is not possible to put in a pouch bag and they might check it. Make sure you have receipts, otherwise get them evaluated and take the document. I personally never took the evaluation report as I always managed with pouches instead of boxes. During my last travel, lady at Hyd airport opened up all pouches on my return trip to make sure that I was not carrying any coins. The One and Only Veturi | ||

Coins are not worth it. One option is to convert the coins to bangles (local desi jewelers do this) and hope that they won't bother to look. Anyway, pelli ki jewelry ante, you are looking at, at least half a kg. Even if you want to follow the rules and pay official fine, they will keep them and return them to you on your return journey. 9ther option is to offer them 2 or 300 and leave the airport. Before you leave, get all the jewelry appraised by official appraisers. They will take pictures and issue you a form. That form will need to be verified and signed by customs officer on your return leg at hyd airport. | ||

I thought restrictions are only for raw gold but not for personal jewelry. Is it true or naaakesinattenaa? |
