Poor/middle class people suffered many times before demonetization like strikes,riots,rallies etc but no one cared about these people when these incidents happened,but now everyone so concerned about poor/middle class people during demonetization. | ||

demonitization should be done.. agreed... But the process followed by Modi and his govt was NOT great.. At the end it looks like he wanted to win UP elections .. And during the demon process lots of poor/middle/upper middle class ppl suffered for which their was no value for..it is what i believe in.. | ||

In a DD News interview, PM Modi justified the government's move to ban Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination currency, explaining that it crippled those who possessed illegal wealth. "Those who have lost something, they are still crying over demonetisation. Those who don't have black money are happy because they can now buy whatever they want," PM Modi said. While PM Modi made no mention of the monetary impact of demonetisation during the interview, he said in a rally earlier in the day that the "note bandi" helped reveal Rs 3 lakh crore worth black money. "When demonetisation was announced, the world was surprised. People thought that this was the end of Modi. But the way our 125 crore countrymen showed patience and faith, we were able to take one step after another in our drive against corruption," he said. PM Modi said deposits of over Rs 1.75 lakh crore were recorded by banks after demonetisation. He went on to explain that the move has also helped improve the collection of income tax in the country in comparison to the previous government. PM Modi said one of the main concerns of the government - to get money back into banks - was solved by implementing demonetisation. According to the prime minister, demonetisation also helped in revealing around three lakh shell companies that were dealing in hawala transactions. Not only does he feel that the move would empower the poor in the future but also prevent the circulation of black money in the economy. PM Modi also spoke on a range of economic issues during the interview. Apart from doubling farmers' income, he also vowed to improve India's ease of living ranking and GDP growth. |
