The passengers of British Airways flight 3271 has met with a surprise when their plane mistakenly landed in Edinburgh, Scotland instead of the actual destination, Dusseldorf, Germany. The pilot says it was due to a mix up with paperwork. It is reported that the flight took an accidental diversion from London City airport after wrong documentation was submitted. In fact, passengers were shocked to hear 'Welcome to Edinburgh' announcement as they did not realize the place when they landed. One of the passenger's son tweeted, 'British Airways, can you please explain how can my morning flight take off from LCY to Dusseldorf land in Edinburgh? While an interesting concept, I don't think anyone on board has signed up for this mystery travel lottery. This feels like an honest mistake rather than a diversion. The crew was convinced of the Edinburgh flight path from the get-go.' The flight was supposed to land in Dusseldorf, Germany, at 9.40 am and instead, landed in Scotland capital at 8.47am. Initially, all the passengers thought it was a prank when they heard the announcement. British Airways spokesperson said, 'We are working with WDL Aviation, who operated this flight on behalf of British Airways, to establish why the incorrect flight plan was filed. We have apologised to customers for this interruption to their journey and will be contacting them all individually. |
