KCR met CEC and requested AP and TG to have polling on the same date (so that ppl chose where to vote) and also TG to have elections in 1st phase itself as there are other elections which are pending in TG which can be taken up before LS results are announced. He said since the code of conduct applies till results are announced and he can get 2 other elections done after LS and before results are announced. This to avoid extended periods of code of conduct. Even CBN agreed to this as early elections are usually advantage for the ruling party. Not saying EC agreed to it blindly but both KCR and CBN were expecting 1st or 2nd phase elections. Also remember south india gets early summer so another angle was to get south india done as early as possible to improve turn out. | ||
