"data theft" E padam use chesi T govt lodged a case against a it company. Basically its a waste case, because current IT laws cannot prosecute people in this situation. But mana Supreme Court has agreed that privacy as fundamental right. So government has drafted a bill that is yet to pass. Anyways... I am assuming that data theft laws will become something similar to CCPA 2020... If you don't know what that is.. Then Google. Data theft in our context is storing pii data without consent of that particular person. When new data privacy law will go into effect, then Tdp party will be charged RS. 5000 for every person they stored the info without recorded consent. But I am not sure about now. Still as a party Tdp has committed a moral crime against the public. As most of the DBers are engineers, you have a obligation by profession to behave ethically. And any TT in this DB should do the same. Anyways... Coming to point. Tdp is now committing another moral mistake, this is bigger than storing PII without consent, which is for now questionable but may not be illegal. Tdp is spreading lot of misinformation aided by TTs (in this DB as well) that "data theft" occurred when Ycp has stolen their "proprietary" data. Antey oka systematic misinformation, systematically fooling public by not explaining what the term and the context is, especially in a country like India where public is not aware of their fundamental right to privacy.
