Ever since Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced that he would give a 'return gift' to his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu in reciprocation to the latter’s campaign in Telangana elections, political observers are eagerly awaiting how the return gift would be.
Of course, KCR made his strategy very clear by making an open friendship with YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and is most likely to campaign for him in the coming elections to defeat Chandrababu Naidu.
Before that, KCR is learnt to have decided to test the people’s pulse to find out whether his interference in AP elections will have any impact on the poll prospects in that state.
So, there has been a talk that he has secretly commissioned an independent survey in AP to find out the ground situation.
Lending credence to this talk, a team of young research scholars from Hyderabad was caught doing an election survey in Proddatur in Kadapa district by local political activists.
Equipped with a questionnaire, the team members were found randomly collecting the public opinion on the candidates and parties contesting the elections.
Some of the questions they were asking include who was the best TDP candidate and YSRC candidate, whether TDP will win or YSRC, whether the people are getting benefitted by TDP government schemes and which party could be voted to power to serve the people better.
When the local political activists confronted them, the team members said they were from Telangana and they had taken the permission from district administration.
They clarified that they did not belong to any political party, but did not disclose on whose behalf they were doing the survey.
