Good info.. how about estate plan? Any idea average cost of trust setup for typical Desi family with one home and bank accounts.. I suppose as the complexity increases cost will too!! | ||

If you have home and other assets on both of your name then trust makes it easy for you / your spouse to access them when one of you is not around. For ex, you can't (easily) sell your house on your own if your spouse name is also on the deed. You can go to court to prove that your spouse is no longer there and then court will assign you the right but it takes 2-3 months time. Same with bank accounts or any other assets.. So if you have a trust then you will eliminate the court / documentation process You can also properly plan for your kids future / finances etc in case something happens to both of you. Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresea, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein | ||
