Did they change the definition of poor/ poverty in these 27 years ? I think govt did change the definition. Hence, more people are above the poverty line from that date. dalits are improving as well. Can we reduce the reservations in jobs ? | ||

Also you have to compare against average growth. With inflation, it may give a wrong picture. We have to look at the economic inequality between rich and poor which is increasing. This is not a Indian problem but due to urbanization and industrialization. Its become bad in India since its in the throes of development right now.
