Rocketk2, Uno made good points so far. But let me add my meat here. I have taken Term Life (both for me and for my spouse) 3 years back. My coverage is one million/30 years term) payin $1414/year.
1. The insurance name is "Term Life Insurance" 2. Its called "Accidental Disability Rider". Some Life insurance policies would have a partial payment of the final payout, if its a TOTAL Disability. Some other policies would have it as a "rider" its like PLUG-IN. Talk to the agent while getting this policy. The right question should be "What are the riders available and howmuch each cost for this policy" 3. a) You are MIXING TWO types of insurances here. You are mixing Life insurance with Health insurance(visitors). b) ANY TYPE of insurance core business is "get more premium paid and deny claim" with this, insurance company duty is to find all possible options to deny a claim. But for Life insurance these options are less. Most of the insurance doesnt cover the suiside in the first one or two yeas. After that 99% deaths are covered since no one try to die for insurance payout. So, dont worry about this point. (Here you need to remember UNO's comment below. You should NOT LIE on your insurance policy. No single lie. If you lie now(say your parents or siblings had cancer and you didnt mention it on the application, etc) insurance company pick these things and deny the pay out at the time they need to pay(they may go sidelines now, even if they know that you are lining as it would make them easy to deny later. So, key is to be FULLY TRUE on your application. 4. Actual final claim starts with your death certificate is as the top page of the claim. So, you MUST DIE. ( :-) ) I am glad that you are doing good research towards a good future financial plan. Dont give up. Keep finding your answers but buy it ASAP. The best place to start is term4sale its a VERY GOOD site. They dont take your personal Identification info and give you EXACT premium from the top rating insurance companies. I did this and that agent contacted me, and proceeded . One important thing to note,you have to disclose all your existing heath conditions honestly.Insurance companies will also do medical tests/blood work to determine your health and give you rating for setting premiums or even decline insurance in same case,if they think it is risky for them to insure Check the fine print ,the terms and conditions.Some companies may not cover if claim is made with in certain period after taking policy etc or for may not cover certain diseases etc | ||

This topic was covered several times as you have mentioned. Lots of information from fellow posters. Term life is what you are looking for. It generally is 20 yrs but there are some 30 yr plans as well. The clauses of life insurance will be very clear. It would be very rare for it to be denied. There will be some court mandated hold period once the death certificate is produced to ensure no foul play. Regarding your point 4, as long as things are done under certified physicam/ licensed institute, there will not be any problem . Don't have first hand info .. this is from friend of a friend of a friend !! Disability is different insurance . Some states(NY) have it as mandatory . You can complement with another insurance from a good company. Key is to pick up a good / reputed company . I would prefer to go with an agent but I have heard many people with good options online as well | ||

It might have already been discussed but if any can point me in the right direction it would be of much help.. Iam looking for term insurance i.e pay premiums with expectation that there will be no returns unless there is death by accident or medical condition. Term can be either 20 or 30yr 1. Can an Indian citizen buy insurance in USA if he is living in USA and later moves back to India? 2. Are there any types that cover disability as well? 3.any one know first/second hand info of simialr scenarios and insurance company pays up as advertised or do they act like the visitor insurance companies and deny most of the claims . 4.medical science is unfortunately at a stage where they can keep a body alive even if there are no chances of recovering and if we choose no life support will the insurance company still pay. That will be a double whammy for survining family as all resources will get spent in the hospital and life insurance doesn't pay up. |
