Ever since the Telugu Desam Party pulled out of National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre, party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for doing injustice to the state. He has been wondering why Modi had developed so much grouse against Andhra Pradesh in general and him in particular. And on Wednesday, he came out with the answer to his own doubts. Naidu told the party leaders in a teleconference that the Centre had been looking down upon him and the state, as the top BJP leadership is apprehensive that he was eyeing national politics and would pose a threat to Narendra Modi. âThey are under the impression that that I might gather the support of all the regional parties in the country to gang up against the NDA. And they think I have high political ambitions at the national level. These are unfounded and baseless,â Naidu said. He reminded that he had repeated clarified several times in the past that he was not interested in any role in the national politics. Yet, they continue to feel me as a threat to them, he said, adding that it was because of this doubt that the BJP was trying to get closer to the YSR Congress party which had extended its unconditional support to the BJP candidates.
