Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is likely to hold on to in Bihar if Lok Sabha elections are to be held today while Mamata Banerjee will win all the way in West Bengal, said a CNN-IBN-The Hindu poll. It said that post-split with BJP, JD-U is all set to emerge as the leading party in Bihar with 25 per cent vote share while RJD is likely to catch up with 24 per cent vote share. BJP would finish third with 22 per cent vote share. JD-U is likely to lead with 15-19 seats while both RJD and BJP are likely to finish in a neck and neck tie with 8-12 seats. Congress could only win about 0-4 seats, the poll suggested. It also suggested public opinion on the split with BJP is not in favour of JD-U as 38 per cent of the respondents feel itish Kumar should have accepted Narendra Modi and 33 per ent of the respondents hold JD-U responsible for the break-up with BJP. The poll also said satisfaction with the Nitish Kumar overnment among the respondents has gone down from 90 per cent to 69 per cent between 2011 and 2013. The dissatisfaction has increased from nine per cent to 25 per cent. According to it, Nitish with 12 per cent emerged as the most popular non-Cong non-BJP choice for prime minister followed by Mayawati at 9 per cent and Mamata and Mulayam Singh Yadav at eight per cent. The poll suggested the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal will sweep the polls in West Bengal despite Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's persona taking a beating with 32 per cent vote share and projected 23-27 seats if Lok Sabha elections were to held today. he oppostion Left parties would finish a distant second with projected 7-11 seats. t said the satisfaction about the TMC government among respondents has gone down from 79 per cent to 50 per cent and the dissatisfaction has gone up from nine to 42 per cent today compared to 2011 when it had come to power. 21 percent rated as good the present state of economy as against 31 per cent who said it was bad. 34 per cent said the central government was more responsible for price rise. |
