when i did this first time to my mom she was rejected visa further citing the extension. That time they gave only 6 months visit visa. later after almost 7yrs or so (to be precise when her passport expired and got new one) she got visa for 10 yrs. I did it last year. We E filed the applications and sent the supporting document in mail. We got extension for additional 6 months with no issues. It took 6 weeks to get the approval. At that time we have Air India open ticket, so I included a copy of return ticket and requested for extension to stay with additional time and visit more places in USA. Also I sent a notarized Affidavit to support form (I134) along with my bank statement, recent pay stub etc... to prove we take care of all expenses for extended stay. One thing I remember, in the instructions they ask you to mail the original I 94, but a copy(front & back) is enough. Do not send the original I 94. | ||

1. How long do they take to respond upon request submission? 2. How early our request should be for this extension? months time, 2 months or 3 months 3. Period of stay expire ayyi, response inka raaledhu ante... can we continue to stay as request is In Progress 4. Will the extension be 3 months/6 months 5. If we utilize 3/6 months on top of our initial period of stay, can we visit back in next 3-6 months time frame or wait for another year or so before making another visit. (Ventane travel cheyyacha after staying close to 9 or 12 months on tourist visa, leka bokka paduthundha next visit lo....ventane vachesaaru malli ani 2 months or 3 isthada next immediate visit vasthey and with a warning) Peaceful ga cheppandi.... | ||

You can submit the documentation with the reason. Unless UDCIS believes it as a strong reason, they would not allow. You will be notified either way. I did extend for my parents once and was approved. | ||
