Oflate hav come across many posts & threads which talk abt the fate of TFI with its template movies. In fact we wud have come across Northies & mettas who openly criticise our taste & the quality of our movies and how they make world class cinema consistently. Many of us feel embarrassed to even defend our movies & today we ourselves are the biggest critics of TFI. So, My 2 cents on the above. I am proud of what TFI has achieved till now in it's own right. I am proud of the fact tht we have richest treasure clove of mythological genre & actors who have owned those roles where no other Industry can even come close. And our quality was so damn good tht those Ramanayana & Mahabaharatha serials look like poor copies of the originals. Proud of the fact that we had Fantasy genre wit directors (ESP. vitalachary) who had, using simple camera tricks created believable magic on the b&w screen at a fraction cost of the work of the Hollywood movies at the time. Proud of the fact tht our Industry has produced the highest no. of dancing superstars to date who set the screen ablaze wit their moves, giving birth to generations of dancers & makes other industries feel like paupers. Proud of the fact tht arguably, we have had the most mass entertaining & high voltage action movies than any other in the country. Proud of the fact tht we have owned Comedy genre like its been our birth right. If movies were all abt creating magic & bringing happiness for 2 hrs, I don't think any other Industry in the world can claim to have justified their role as us for having spread such joy thru the comedy in our movies. Infact, this can be our single claim to greatness. Oka manishi ki anandam min china paramardham ledu. Atuvantidi, we have always strived to spread laughter & joy through our movies which only made the world a better place to be in. So much so tht the same Northies & Mettas today are tripping over each other to secure the remake rights of our movies which have in turn gave them consistent collections. And ppl all over India jst lapped up such kind of movies for the sheer dumb entertainment value they provided and brought joy to the viewers for 2 hrs. Heck, even all the Hindi channels today play even our flopped dubbed movies. We single handedly revived movies with entertainment in India. Despite having our own share of great movies, We have a long way to go in improving our content in movies and are no way close to consistent world class cinema. We shall slowly, but surely get there too. But till then...jst be goddarn proud of what we already have & for the sheer bliss we have spread thru our movies. Long live Telugu Film Industry.
