Finally ivvala matinee set chesa. Without delving into too much plot, here is what I felt. First half was decent, and second half was better. Cliched story and performances from the director. Some punch dialogs stood out and few scenes hilarious. Performances - Bemmi all the way. He excelled in the role and is the strongest selling point for the movie. Jr could not convincingly manage the role of the Don. He was in ease as the wedding planner. The Telangana diction did not suit him. Dances were same old routine with pacy steps. Fights and stunts are under par. Lawrence gaadi bamma parri, his effect is seen, aka Rebel stunts kiki. Kelly Dorjee gaadu jaaga bokka mafia don if he cannot fight. Gun shooting is hilarious, Jr gaadu mighty Thor lekka 6 ft mundu unna goons ni tapa tapa kalsestha pothadu. Kharma raa kharma.. Kajal did well in her small role. MS needed better screen time. Went missing in second half till the climax. Rest is a mela and rehash of Dookudu characters. One of the films drawbacks is excessive star cast and none of them have good screen presence. Suhasini, Chandra Mohan, Navadeep and Siddharth are all wasted. Use of NTR's name in the end was not necessary. Comparisions to Dookudu are inevitable, but Badshah pales in every aspect (exception Bemmi). However, the movie entertains overall and is a one time watch for Bemmi. A chance wasted by Jr and Vaitla for coming up with a better product. Rating 3/5 I am struck by the lightning of love and burnt beyond repair - Florentino Ariza |
