hmm selecttech should be good...compared to all other brands for same equipment
face meedha landing anna fear overcoming kastam yay...only thing I make sure I do not swing the dumb bell but move it in a controlled manner
bench manchidhi set cheyyi and take one which can go both incline and decline

since past 2 months I have been following this
workout A
dumb bell squat : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqYi90vp8m4
dumb bell bench press :
dumb bell deadlift
workout B
dumb bell squat
dumb bell shoulder press
dumb bell rows

for each routine except dead lift I do 5 reps per set
for each routine I do warm up sets (4-5 sets...starting with light wt, 5 reps per set...last warmup set is 3 reps...steadily increment wt in each warm up set
last warmup set should no be too close to workout set)

ivi ayyaka I do accessory routines...one kind for each body part
like 3 sets of 8 reps of
incline/decline press or db fly
shoulder lateral/front raises
db lunges
shrugs

main workout sets kee take a gap of around 45-60 secs between each set
last vee you can speed up, reduce rest time, sometimes do 2-3 different exercises contiguously and take a break ( this is called supersetting)

try to follow this for 3 months
learn each movement...what joint, muscle is getting worked, form etc
start with light wt...even a 20 lb padded bar bell used in aerobic training will do
but for each workout day increase wt by 2.5 lbs in each dumb bell

try to research stuff around what I mentioned above...dont over whelm you selves with body building routines and other marketing gimmicks
arms gurinchi worry awwadku...pai cheppinavi chethay arms will start getting stronger as your working wt progresses


nenu 2 months nundi above program chesthunaanu
i have to change some stuff now as it is very hard for me to do dumb bell squats like in that video now...enduku antay nenu wt graduall gaa increase sesukuntaa poyaanu but sero sethilo 60 lb plus wt pattukovaali antay katam gaa undhii...so I started doing dumb bell shoulder squat instead
again went back to a wt which was moderately heavy for me, as I learned the movement and will help me progress

diet is also very important if not the most important

bro, you will be best served by establishing a strength base
strength training antay lower number of repetitions per working set while keeping the wt amount heavy( heavy antay bandaraayi heay kaadhu, we all start with marbles heavy)

conc on core compound movement excercises
1. squat
2. bench press
3. shoulder press
4. deadlift
5. rows

equipment wise emis et chedhaam anukuntunaavu?
dont invest even a dollar in any thing that has cables, levers etc

protein shake ante daantlo carbs undavani kaadu.....a typical protein shake consits of simple carbs + protein + some good fat.....why simple carbs in PWO shake? for insluin spike after a workout

anyway some research shows that overall gaa baane thinte saripoddi.....maree strictesht gaa pollow avavalsina avasaram ledu.....buti feel protein shakes are convenient

my typical protein shake.....protein powder + banana/mango + coconut crea/avocado....whatever is avaialable
