I read this quote somewhere and I thought it seems so true.

It happened with IBM, it happened with Microsoft and it seems to be happening with Apple now.

"When a company that has inordinate amounts of cash seems to focus on making yet even more cash, the glamor of developing new and better fundamental technologies to serve the customer is hard to recapture. "

It eventually leads to the downfall of that company as some other hungry new entrant would come up with better innovations.
