Politics is the last resort of a scoundrel, said great writer and philosopher George Bernard Shaw. This oft-repeated maxim aptly suits the Indian politicians. Politics in India has become so corrupt that many people seldom think of casting their votes during elections, leave alone joining politics. But Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu wants more and more people to enter politics. In fact, he gave a call during his padayatra in West Godavari district that there should be a politician from every family. âWe need to establish value-based politics. Only then can we produce a society with high moral values. For that, every family should send at least one person into politics. That would strengthen the democracy,â he said. Well, it has given the impression that the TDP president wants to see at least one scoundrel in every family. But it is not clear whether he wants all those scoundrels to be part of the TDP! |
