Simba:

For someone without any additional boxes (BD player, streaming box, HTPC etc), it makes sense to get a Smart TV as all-in-one solution.

also compare the cost there is huge diff between smart and non-smart tv, any additional box costs you lot cheaper than smart tv.
if you have AV receiver you dont have to worry about having so many hdmi ports also.

even BD players also has lot of limitations...

go for a dedicated streaming box, for ex: WD media player.

Lets say I have a blue ray player with all the internet apps, then why would I
spend $300 more for the smart features that I'm getting for $100 BD player ?
If I buy a basic TV which is good at displaying quality picture isn't that enough?
What are the additional advantages of buying Smart TV's other than internet apps?

more over based on my experience I would loudly say "having apps outside the TV (in BD player or Roku etc ) performs better than having the apps on TV itself"
Come on Smart TV owners answer me ..
