Budugu.. ---------- so people dont know how to do things until they live in america or X country. ---------- It is not that people don't know things, but majority of the people being illiterate and due to limited resources, the priorities are different (like earning a living) for majority of the people. As majority people has no time or money to pay attention to some basic common civility principle, the people who can has money/time also don't pay attention and behave like majority of the people. Over the time, these things become COMMON. When we come here, we see the difference and try to take these with us when we go back for good or for a visit. | ||

While CULTURALLY we are FAR superior to WEST, ETICALLY we are probably at the BOTTOM of the ranking. My outlook changed after coming to US and I fell in love with the People's attitude, hardworking and especially respect to the LAW of the LAND etc. With India, it is like "MAA THATHALU NETHULU TAGARU, MAA MUTHULU VASANA CHUDDANDI". | ||

I don't think anyone is talking about patriotism in this thread...It is just a fact that spending a part of your lifetime abroad (especially in the west) will make u a better human being.....when u do that, u learn to respect other cultures and u also recognise the greatness in your own culture.....Gandhi has lived in south africa for more than 20 years, before he returned to India....It helped him to understand the mind of the british, and eventually to give them a taste of their own medicine...
