Got rear-ended by a car driven by a teenager. Called the cops. No apparent injuries but back of my car(rear right lights, area) are damaged and his car front. Kid told cops his car brake was no good and he tried to avoid hitting. Still, he also said he did not see me braking. He was not under influence.

Anything to be aware of or be cautious about? No witnesses stayed back.
