http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.ge tpage?page_id=433&p_org_id=1001&lang=US Sun Certification Now Fully Integrated With Oracle Certification Program Effective September 1, 2010, all Java, Oracle Solaris, MySQL, Open Office and Oracle Solaris Cluster certifications have been re-published and rebranded under the Oracle Certification Program. This change will not impact any of the exam objectives and with Oracle’s firm commitment to the growth of the program, these credentials will continue to be some of the highest recognized achievements in the industry. Review our Sun Certification Integration Reference to see the certification mapping and get answers to your top questions. What this Means For You: * If you currently hold an existing Sun certification: Your current Sun certification title will continue to be recognized under the Oracle certification program and will be valid without expiration. You can upgrade your certification at any time to the latest technology release to receive an Oracle certification title. * If you are in the process of preparing for a certification, taking an exam or planning to upgrade your certification: The exam format and objectives for each of the exams are the same as they were previously under Sun so there is no impact to those preparing to get certified. If you achieve your certification on or after September 1, 2010, you will receive an Oracle certification title and will have use of Oracle Certification Program logo for endorsement of your proven skill by Oracle Corporation. All vouchers that you previously purchased will also continue to be valid. * Candidates taking exams between September 1-3 may see either Sun and/or Oracle-branded exam titles while registering and taking exams during this transition period. Note however that the exam number codes (i.e. CX-NNN) and the actual exam content (test questions; scoring) will remain the same both before and after the transition. Please note: candidates taking these exams starting on September 1 will earn Oracle-branded certifications, even if the exam taken contains the previous Sun title.
